Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC) is the annoying popup message asking users if they want to allow certain actions to happen. Designed to improve security, the UAC has not significantly improved the security. However, the UAC made many users unhappy, and made many software packages inoperable.

Here is how to disable the UAC (You must have Administrative Access Rights to disable UAC).

Step 1: From "Start" Menu, go to Control Panel

Step 2:  In Control Panel, open "User Accounts"

Step 3: In "User Accounts" subfolder, click on "User Accounts" again.

Step 4: Select "Turn User Account Control on or off"

Step 5: Clear the check box "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer", then press OK. You will have to restart your computer after this.
